Join the town’s new Christmas tradition!

Christmas tree lighting for the whole family on the first Sunday of Advent.

For the second year in a row, we are holding a Christmas tree lighting in the square behind Egedal Town Hall.

We light candles in the large Christmas tree and sing Christmas together. Lots of Christmas cheer with music, speeches, dancing around the Christmas tree and warm æbleskiver!

Music, words and lights
Sofia and Sverre from Ølstykke Church play the angels out of hiding with beautiful Christmas music and the skilled brass players from Egedal Jagthorn provide festive fanfares.

The Stenlændernes Tambourkorps starts the Christmas party with flutes, drums and horns in true old-fashioned Christmas style!

Mayor Vicky Holst Rasmussen (Egedal Municipality) will give a speech at the Christmas tree lighting.
And when the large Christmas tree is lit, Eva Møller from the Parish Council in Ølstykke Parish will give a candle lighting speech with words for reflection.

Christmas atmosphere for everyone

The Christmas tree lighting is arranged in collaboration between Egedal Municipality and Ølstykke & Udlejre Churches.

Everyone is very welcome to a cozy afternoon on the large square in front of Egedal Town Hall.

It is completely free and no registration is required.
