Solens Slægt
A 30 minute excerpt of a new national romantic queer opera by danish composer Ea Wim.
Solens Slægt | Ea Wim | Rytmisk Sal, Musikhuset
Fearless composer Ea Wim is premiering 30 minutes of her new electro-acoustic microtonal national romantic queer opera about the Nordic Bronze Age as her Master’s thesis exam in composition- And it’s fucking crazy in the best way possible!
I’m in fantastic company with Julia Jacobson as Sól, the daughter of the Sun. And the two demigod twin brothers Hengest and Horsa played by Kim-Erik Ankler and Hans Christian Brun-Jensen.

I’m bringing the role of The Siren to life.
A terrifying and powerful creature, all-seeing and mysterious.
The three heroes must defeat her to get to their sacred destination. If they fail, they cannot perform their Midsummer ritual and the world might end!
Embodying a cormorant bird, she’s nasty, slightly disgusting yet somehow intriguing and hypnotic.
I’m combining classical vocals, sprechgesang and extreme vocals techniques for this showcase. And that’s not even mentioning the fearless, radical and absolutely brilliant performances from the rest of the cast, the director and last but not leat the wonderful orchestra!
Do not miss this!!!
